Dubai Project Management Forum highlights "Future societies and sustainability"

Dubai, January 14 / WAM / The Dubai Project Management Forum organized a discussion session entitled “Societies of the Future: Long-Term Value through Sustainability,” moderated by Rossana Lockwood, an international news presenter, with the participation of an elite group of leaders and experts.
The session began with an intervention by Her Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and she stressed the importance of cooperation between the government, private and non-profit sectors, in addition to adopting a comprehensive sustainability plan, with a focus on capacity building, noting that these elements are available in the Emirate of Dubai, supported by other factors that contribute to development and construction, most notably the focus on the family, and providing awareness programs targeting the category of newly married couples, in addition to educating future generations on the importance of flexibility and planning. For the future, building capabilities based on cooperation and culture.
Her Excellency pointed out that designing services requires the involvement of individuals and society, with planning to benefit from them in the long term, expressing pride in implementing care and empowerment programs in cooperation with 425 companies from the private sector in the Emirate of Dubai, and with the support of the Dubai Government and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, which contributed to the creation of more than 7,600 job opportunities.
For his part, His Excellency Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, spoke about the sustainability experiences taking place in the Emirate of Dubai, pointing out that the Dubai Project Management Forum is a sustainable and successful model, given its continuity for several years and attracting an elite group of speakers.
His Excellency explained that Dubai Municipality is keen to provide facilities in providing the services that individuals and society need, in addition to following up on asset maintenance services related to sustainability, and working in partnership with stakeholders to identify their requirements and needs, stressing that the Emirate of Dubai has succeeded in providing a high level of services, and that this success requires in the next stage to enhance the level of service beyond expectations.
Diane Hamilton, founder and CEO of Tonaire, said during the session that achieving sustainability requires realizing the value of time and purpose, and studying the element of competitiveness, which most business managers who aspire to the success of projects, achieve competition, and succeed in reaching goals, care about.
Michael Paulin, an architect, innovator, and expert in regenerative design and biomimicry, stressed the importance of project managers’ familiarity with the methods of work followed, knowledge of the available success tools and the ability to employ them efficiently, in addition to paying attention to administrative affairs that may seem simple, but they require specialized expertise, stressing that the goals of projects must be long-term, capable of facing challenges and keeping pace with the changes and challenges of the times.
