Officials and business owners confirmed that the UAE has become a global force in innovative and sustainable humanitarian efforts, and that it is the beating heart of the world and the owner of benevolent hands extended to provide humanitarian and charitable assistance to everyone who is exposed to distress or needs support, in any part of the world.
They said that the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, spared no effort in providing assistance and support to those in need, and that it was a pioneer in this matter, as it became at the forefront of donors, and that it also became a pioneer in managing these humanitarian and charitable works in innovative and sustainable ways.
This came during a discussion session entitled “From the Heart of Dubai: Empowering Life through Humanitarian Efforts” on the sidelines of the Dubai International Project Management Forum, in its eleventh session, in which the CEO of Azizi Group for Real Estate Development, Farhad Azizi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf International Cancer Center, Dr. Mahdi Al-Fardan, the President of the International Project Management Association in the Emirates and Professor at the British University in Dubai, Khalid Al-Marri, and the Secretary-General and Board Member of the Digital School, one of the initiatives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, Dr. Walid Al Ali, and presented by the media personality, Georgia. take over.
The participants in the session stated that Dubai has become a center for rapprochement between communities through the nationalities that live on its land in safety and security, and that its residents and visitors have begun to live a quality of life in all its facilities, and that the humanitarian initiatives through which it is launched are carried out with wise vision and management, which have translated words into actions and made humanitarian work a way of life in which everyone is keen to participate.
They added that charitable and humanitarian work in Dubai, and its diversity, is characterized by trust and security for those wishing to participate in it, and philanthropists and its doers have become fully confident that they are participants and not spectators, and they are aware of the fact that it is not only a city for tourism and work, but it is also a leader in innovative and sustainable humanitarian work.
In a keynote speech he delivered during the second day of the Dubai Project Management Forum, Cirque du Soleil’s Executive Director of Operations for Shows, Duncan Fisher, reviewed his professional career that began with great challenges, as he started from scratch and graduated in tasks until he reached work in administrative operations, which allowed him to participate in major shows and festivals.
He pointed to an important milestone in his career, which was his work at a trade conference in Montreal, which won the Best Conference of the Year award, before he later assumed leadership of the touring show department, becoming responsible for one of the largest touring show operations in the entertainment sector.
Today, Fisher serves as Chief Operating and Offering Officer, managing the company’s global offering portfolio.
He explained that business management is similar to circus management, as it is based on basic elements that include harmony between work teams, creativity, and customer experience, in addition to the presence of common goals, clear principles, effective communication, and continuous sharing of information.
He said that this method, known as shared awareness, contributes to building trust within teams, and allows decisions to be delegated without the constant need to refer to senior management.
He stressed that safety is a top priority, through reducing risks, providing protective equipment, and continuous planning and training, stressing that creativity grows in stimulating work environments and is linked to providing a positive experience for the public.
