Trump’s announcement of imposing customs duties came after France, Sweden, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom sent military personnel to Greenland on a reconnaissance mission as part of a training organized by Denmark with countries in NATO.
Macron said: "No intimidation or threats can affect us, neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world.".
Support for Ukraine
France emphasized "Committed to the sovereignty and independence of states, in Europe as well as elsewhere. This is what guides our choices. This supports our commitment to our Charter and within the framework of the United Nations".
He added "On this basis, we support Ukraine, and we have built a coalition of those who want a firm and lasting peace, to defend these principles and our security. Also on this basis, we decided to join the training that Denmark decided to organize in Greenland. We bear responsibility for it, especially as it relates to security in the Arctic and on the borders of Europe"
