Trump threatens to storm the Strait of Hormuz
He said US President, Donald Trump, on Tuesday, ordered the US International Development Finance Corporation to provide political risk insurance and financial guarantees for maritime trade passing through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, especially oil shipments, warning that the US Navy may soon begin escorting tankers Oilthrough the Strait of Hormuz if necessary.
Trump’s warning about resorting to the US Navy to secure waterways comes at a time when the US military is intensifying its operations in the region since the escalation of the conflict, and officials reported that US forces have sunk several Iranian warships since the start of the joint campaign with Israel.
