Norway warns of a trade war with America

Norwegian Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Storhe, warned yesterday of a looming trade war, after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose additional customs duties on eight European countries, including Norway, due to its support for Greenland. He told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), after a press conference: “I think we have to be very careful so that a trade war does not break out that gets out of control.” “I think no one will benefit from that.”

In the same context, Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin said that the European Union would respond if American threats to impose customs duties on European allies over Greenland were implemented.
