The Authority explained that the total number of volunteer opportunities implemented reached 10,358 volunteer opportunities, with the participation of 57,982 male and female volunteers, including 41,837 male volunteers and 16,145 female volunteers, all of whom contributed to providing 500,559 volunteer hours. In various fields.
Different fields of volunteering
The statistics showed that Jeddah Governorate came at the forefront of the governorates in terms of the number of Volunteer opportunities with 3,557 opportunities, followed by the Holy Capital with 2,713 opportunities, then Taif Governorate third with 1,458 volunteer opportunities, while the rest of the opportunities were distributed among the rest of the governorates and centers of the region according to operational and humanitarian needs. The areas of volunteering that were implemented during the year included a number of vital tracks, most notably:
the first aid field, the administrative field, the humanitarian field, the media field, the environmental field, and the educational field, which reflects the comprehensiveness of volunteer work and its integration with the Authority’s roles in serving the community, supporting the guests of God, and participating in community events and initiatives.
Empowering Volunteer Work
The Authority confirmed that these numbers come as an extension of its keenness to enable institutional volunteer work and raise the efficiency of Volunteers, and expanding the scope of their participation in various programs and initiatives, in a way that contributes to enhancing emergency preparedness and consolidating the culture of volunteerism and social responsibility.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region invited those wishing to join volunteer work to register via the “Volunteer With Us” platform, learn about the available opportunities, and participate in the initiatives provided by the Authority in the region.
