Syria – The United Nations is closely following developments and urging the protection of civilians

In his daily press conference, UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said that all parties in Syria bear a clear responsibility that requires them to avoid actions that might expose civilians to danger, increase tensions, or lead to further displacement.

Haq added that the Secretary-General of the United Nations urges all parties to maintain de-escalation, adhere to the ceasefire, and implement the details of the recent understanding without delay and in the spirit of settlement with full respect for the rights, safety and dignity of all communities.
