Dubai, 27 January / WAM / The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority launched the thirty-first edition of the Art Map, which was prepared in cooperation with The Jam Jar Studio to provide a comprehensive guide to the most prominent festivals, cultural events and art exhibitions in Dubai and the UAE, reflecting the vitality and diversity of the creative scene and confirming the authority’s commitment to creating sustainable creative environments that support local talents and entrepreneurs and contribute to the development of the cultural and creative industries sector and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity and a forum. For talent.

The new edition allocates a large space to the Dubai Arts Season, which is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, during the period from the twenty-first of this January to the twenty-sixth of next April, and brings together under its umbrella a variety of artistic and entertainment events and festivals in various parts of the emirate.

The issue reviews the details of the local cultural scene and sheds light on the twentieth edition of the Art Dubai exhibition, which will be held next April under the slogan “Future, Past, Present” through qualitative dialogues with those in charge of the exhibition, and addresses the role of a number of prominent cultural centers in supporting the creative movement and enhancing its presence locally and globally.

The cover of the Art Map features an image of artist Khaled Mezaina, while the issue celebrates the experience of artist Dr. Najat Makki within the “Artists We Celebrate” section, while at the same time highlighting the experiences of emerging artists Raneem Al-Halqi and Ziad Al-Najjar and the curators’ efforts to support local artists.

The publication allocates space to artistic festivals and events in the country, including the SIKKA Arts and Design Festival, Al Quoz Arts Festival, and World Arts Dubai, in addition to a series of dialogues with a group of influential names in the cultural scene, which enhances the role of the art map as a knowledge reference that documents the momentum of the creative movement in Dubai and the Emirates.
