المملكة: "Rural Saudi Arabia" Distributes 1,800 packages of modern beekeeping equipment to Saudi beekeepers

Launched the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program ""a development project to provide modern beekeeping tools and equipment for Saudi beekeepers, which contributes to achieving a qualitative shift in the beekeeping sector, by raising production efficiency and quality of honey, promoting the adoption of modern technologies, and supporting the transition from traditional methods to more sustainable practices, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The official spokesman for the company explained "Rural Saudi Arabia" Majid Al-Braikan said that the project is working to shift towards sustainability, by supporting the optimal exploitation of resources, and reducing the loss of hives and by-products, in a way that directly integrates with the projects of establishing and operating queen bee rearing stations and producing parcels, which are being implemented within the programs of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, pointing out the consistency of these steps, with the goals of the queen rearing stations in improving the genetic characteristics of local bees, and raising the efficiency of breeding and production at the level of the Kingdom.

Modern beekeeping tools

Al-Braikan stated that the project aims to create the appropriate technical and operational environment to make the most of the outputs of these stations. Modern beekeeper tools contribute to enabling beekeepers to deal efficiently with improved queens and locally produced parcels, to achieve high rates of replacement success, breeding quality, and cell stability. They also work to enhance technical practices between stations and beekeepers. In order to support the transfer of development impact from stations to field apiaries in an effective and sustainable manner.

He explained that the project contributes to raising the production efficiency and quality of honey. Modern equipment helps improve hive management, control feeding, inspection and harvesting processes, and reduce stress on bees, which reflects positively on increased productivity and improves the properties of honey in terms of quality and safety, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the local product in the markets. He added that the beekeeper tools distribution project includes Saudi beekeepers in all regions of the Kingdom, with the total number of supplies of tools that will be distributed reaching 1,800 packages.
