"Dubai roads" It will implement 67 traffic developments in 2025 and intends 45 additional projects in 2026.

DUBAI, 28 JANUARY / WAM / The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the completion of 67 rapid traffic improvements in various regions of the emirate during the year 2025, which included 46 improvements in various locations of vital streets and residential areas, 12 improvements in school areas, and 9 improvements in development areas, as part of a strategic plan for rapid traffic solutions aimed at raising the efficiency of the road network, enhancing traffic flow, and preserving the safety of road users.
The Authority stated that it plans to implement more than 45 traffic improvements during the year 2026, which include developing and expanding a number of vital intersections and development areas, improving entrances and exits in residential and commercial areas, in addition to implementing quick traffic solutions in the vicinity of schools.
The Authority confirmed that these improvements embody its commitment to translate the directives of the wise leadership in the sustainable development of infrastructure, support transportation efficiency, and reduce travel time and traffic density, by enhancing connectivity between residential, educational and development areas, in a way that keeps pace with urban growth and enhances the quality and luxury of life in the Emirate of Dubai.
The solutions and improvements implemented during the year 2025 contributed to achieving a positive traffic impact, represented by raising the efficiency of the road network, enhancing the flow of vehicle movement, and reducing travel time by an estimated rate of up to 45% in the improvement areas, in addition to raising the vehicle capacity in a number of streets by a rate of 33%.
With regard to the main areas and streets, the completed traffic solutions had a clear role in improving flow and increasing capacity in several areas, including Al Warqa’a, Al Barsha South, Nad Al Hamar, and Al Ras, in addition to a number of vital streets, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Maidan Street, Emirates Road towards Sharjah, Umm Al Sheif Street, Al Wasl Street, Ras Al Khor Street, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Street, and Al Manara Street.
The authority also completed a series of improvements to vital streets, including widening Sheikh Zayed Road towards Al Meydan Street from two lanes to three lanes at the entrance to Al Khawaneej area, increasing the capacity of the Meydan Bridge from three to four lanes, widening the exit from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Meydan Street from one lane to two lanes, in addition to improving the connections between the surface roads and the bridge, and traffic improvements at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al Manara Street, which contributed to raising the vehicle capacity by 50% and reducing waiting time by more than 50%. 30% at this intersection.
In the area of schools, the authority implemented 12 traffic improvements during the year 2025 that served more than 30 schools in Dubai, which included school complexes in the areas of Al Warqa’a First, Al Mizhar First, Al Qusais, and Al Barsha South, in addition to Al Mawakeb School in Al Garhoud, the English College in Al Safa 1, the Zayed Educational Complex in Al Mizhar Fourth, and a number of other schools in various locations in the emirate.
These improvements included providing parking spaces, improving entrances and exits, and implementing traffic calming methods, which contributed to reducing congestion and waiting queues and raising the level of traffic safety in the vicinity of schools.
