The US Federal Reserve keeps interest rates unchanged

The Reserve Board kept The Federal ReserveInterest rates remained steady on Wednesday as expected, after its first monetary policy meeting for 2026.

This is the first time since July that the central bank has chosen to pause the cycle of interest rate cuts, after it cut interest rates three times last year while monitoring the economic effects of President Donald Trump’s aggressive policies.
