Trump announces the reopening of airspace over Venezuela

US President Donald Trump announced that Venezuela’s airspace will be opened again to commercial flights, about four weeks after a US military operation that resulted in the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro.

Trump said at the beginning of a Cabinet meeting at the White House that he had just spoken with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, and informed her of fully reopening commercial airspace over Venezuela.

He added that he had instructed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. "And to all others concerned, including the military, if possible, by the end of the day I would like the airspace over Venezuela to have been opened.".
