The modern sailing team wins 10 medals in the Arab Championship in Egypt

Hurghada (Egypt) on February 2, 2017 – The UAE National Modern Sailing Team won 10 colorful medals, 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze, in the Arab Modern Sailing Championship competitions hosted by the Egyptian city of Hurghada during the period from January 28 to February 1, 2026, with the participation of 136 male and female players from 10 Arab countries: the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain. Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt are the host country.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, congratulated our national team on this honorable achievement, praising the distinguished technical level of the male and female players and the efforts of the technical and administrative bodies that contributed to achieving these positive results.

The gold medals came from Abdullah Al-Zubaidi (ELCA 4th year), Luca Hervé (Optimist general), Douha Al-Bishr (Elka 6th girls), and Carolina Bajak (Optimist girls).

As for the silver medals, they went to Hamad Al Muhairi (Junior Optimist), Othman Al Hammadi (ELCA 6 Years), Adel Khaled (ELCA 7 Masters), and Marwa Al Hammadi (ELCA 4 Girls).

Mohammed Al Owais won the bronze medal in the “ELCA 7” under-19 category, while Marwa Al Hammadi won the bronze medal in the “ELCA 4” category.
