Mohammed bin Rashid meets with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan… and stresses the importance of integrating international efforts to accelerate the wheel of sustainable development

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, met in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan, as part of the preliminary day of the World Government Summit 2026, which begins Tomorrow, under the slogan “Foreseeing Future Governments,” it will continue for three days and will witness the largest leadership participation in its history.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed Tshering Tobgay and the delegation of the Kingdom of Bhutan participating in the work of the World Government Summit 2026. During the meeting, the established relations between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bhutan in various fields and ways to strengthen them in the interest of the two friendly peoples were reviewed.
During the meeting, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit, and Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation Affairs, a review of the visions and goals that the World Government Summit seeks to achieve, as it is one of the most influential global forums with the ability to make a difference in anticipating the future and putting forward proactive initiatives.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of integrating international efforts to accelerate sustainable development and strengthen cooperation between world governments.
For his part, Tshering Tobgay valued the development experience of the UAE and the vital role it plays in enhancing international cooperation, stressing the importance of the World Government Summit as a unique annual event that allows decision-makers, senior officials and experts from all countries of the world to meet to discuss ways to formulate common visions to confront the challenges facing humanity.
More than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, more than 500 ministers, and more than 150 governments will participate in the World Government Summit 2026. It will also bring together more than 80 international and regional organizations and global institutions, and more than 700 CEOs of major international institutions and companies, in the presence of more than 6,250 participants.
