Launching an initiative "Global microbiome ecosystem" Based in Dubai

Dubai, 5 February / WAM / The Dubai Future Foundation, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, and the Sharjah-based Crescent Enterprises Company announced today a microbiome research and development initiative based in Dubai, represented by the ‘Global Microbiome Ecosystem’.

This came during the “Microbium Revolution” symposium in Dubai, which was held with the aim of developing a pioneering global system based on intellectual property for the health sustainability industry and global health.

The UAE and Dubai are committed to driving advanced innovation that defines the ‘future of health’ as ​​an engine for economic growth, quality of life and global competitiveness.

The ‘Global Microbiome Ecosystem’ is set to be a Dubai-based, globally oriented platform based on intellectual property for microbiome-driven health innovation.

This ecosystem will integrate advanced R&D, innovators who shape the future, and responsible sector leaders to focus on priority areas and accelerate knowledge creation by developing talent and generating high-value intellectual property that shapes the future.

Khalifa Al Qama, head of the Research, Development and Innovation Sector in Dubai (RDI), an ecosystem affiliated with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), said that the innovative and experimental regulatory environment frameworks in Dubai classify the city as a natural home for the global microbiome sector, which provides an interconnected ecosystem that brings together research institutions, innovators, investors, policy makers, and global partners. By focusing on microbiome-driven health and sustainability, this cooperation will contribute to accelerating translational research, creating intellectual property with global relevance, and enhancing Dubai’s role as a leading center where Translates groundbreaking science into real-world health impact.
