The Bank of England keeps interest rates unchanged


Keep interest rate remains unchanged at (3.75%), at the lowest interest level since February 2023.

The bank explained that the it is expected to fall to the target level of (2%) sooner than previous estimates.

While it lowered its expectations for during the year 2026 to (0.9%), compared to previous estimates of (1.2%).

The pace of economic activity in Britain is accelerating with the beginning of 2026, indicating a relative improvement after a lackluster end to last year, amid challenges.

At the top of the challenges are continued cost pressures and rising service prices.

The services sector in Britain

The Purchasing Managers’ Index for the sector Services in the United Kingdom, issued by S&P Global, rose to 54.0 points in January.

This is the highest level since August 2025, compared to 51.4 points in December 2026.
