Schools launch the “Ramadan Meer”… Student giving translates the spirit of Ramadan and extends to the homes of needy families

The administrations of a number of schools in various emirates of the country launched the “Al-Meer” initiative
“Ramadan Ramadan” for the academic year 2025-2026, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, and with the active participation of educational and administrative bodies, student councils, and school volunteer teams, within the framework of promoting the values ​​of social solidarity and consolidating the culture of giving in the souls of students.

Addressing parents and students, seen by Emirates Today, she said that through the initiative, she is focusing on instilling the meanings of compassion, cooperation and social responsibility, by calling on students and parents to contribute by providing basic food supplies that are collected and presented to needy families, in support of them during the holy month.

The initiative included organizing the donation process according to a well-thought-out plan that took into account different age groups. Each classroom was allocated a specific type of food, including dates, rice, flour, sugar, salt, oil, milk, pasta, oats, soup, custard, powder, and tea, ensuring the diversity and completeness of the nutritional content.

School administrations confirmed that this initiative is not limited to the charitable dimension only, but rather represents an integrated educational experience that contributes to developing students’ sense of humanity, and enhances in them the concept of volunteer work and positive participation in community service, in line with the state’s vision of preparing generations that are aware, generous, and adhere to its inherent values.

Schools have set tomorrow, Monday, February 9, as the final date for receiving entries, amid widespread praise for the interaction of students and their families, and the continued support of educational staff who were keen to make the initiative a success and achieve its humanitarian and educational goals.

He stressed that “white hands” are capable of making a real difference in the lives of others, and that charitable work in Ramadan is a sublime message that reflects the highest meanings of societal cohesion, asking God to place these efforts in the balance of the good deeds of all participants.
