Nikkei exceeds 56 thousand points.. Japanese stocks jump to record levels

Japanese stocks today, Monday, recording record levels, as the index exceeded The Nikkei crossed the 56,000-point barrier for the first time at the beginning of trading, amid markets’ reaction to the results of the general elections that took place yesterday, Sunday.
The Nikkei rose 3.4% to 56,083 points, while the broader Topix index increased 2.5% to 3,792.05 points.
