Abdullah Al Hamed heads the UAE delegation to the meetings of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Kuwait

The Chairman of the National Media Authority, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, headed the UAE delegation participating in the meetings of the 22nd regular session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which was hosted by the sisterly State of Kuwait, and aimed to discuss a group of projects aimed at developing joint Arab media.
The meetings witnessed a comprehensive review of the joint Arab media strategy, which focused on the necessity of adopting future media tools based on innovation and artificial intelligence, to enhance the Arab presence in the global digital scene.
The meetings also discussed ways to activate Arab media work to confront current challenges and support central Arab issues, most notably promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence and combating extremist ideology through sober and influential media content.
Al Hamed stressed that the joint Arab media work is going through a pivotal stage that requires moving from traditional coordination to comprehensive strategic integration, explaining that the goal is to formulate a unified Arab message that takes the lead in the global space, and is not satisfied with keeping pace with events, but rather creates a narrative that suits the aspirations of our peoples and protects the awareness of our generations.
He stressed that the UAE, based on the directives of its wise leadership, places supporting joint Arab media work at the top of its priorities, stressing the country’s keenness to harness all capabilities and expertise to enable the Arab media system to keep pace with global transformations, in a way that ensures the preservation of national identity and the protection of the historical gains of the Arab peoples.
He thanked the sister State of Kuwait for hosting the work of the 104th session of the Permanent Arab Media Committee, and the 22nd regular session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, praising its pioneering role in supporting the joint Arab action system and developing media discourse tools.
The meetings focused on discussing ways to continue providing media support to the Palestinian cause in light of current developments, and a group of projects aimed at developing joint Arab media, including activating the mechanisms of the Arab media action plan abroad, tightening the interim plan for the media strategy to combat terrorism, the recommendations of the expert group on media and information literacy, and the media plan to deal with environmental issues and extreme climate fluctuations in the Arab world, which is one of the regions most affected by its risks.
The meetings also witnessed a discussion of updating the executive program for the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030, the recommendations of the Arab Committee for Electronic Media, and the preparation of a guideline law to regulate digital media.
