He also stressed that Trump is committed to bringing about a radical transformation in relations with Venezuela.

This visit is the highest level by an official from President Donald Trump’s administration since the lightning military operation. In Caracas on January 3 to arrest President Nicolas Maduro.

Wright is scheduled to visit oil fields in Venezuela, according to the US Department of Energy.
The Venezuelan National Oil Company stated in its Telegram account that "These meetings aim to set a constructive and beneficial agenda for the two countries, within the framework of energy sovereignty and historical bilateral relations"

Reviving the oil industry in Venezuela

Trump had confirmed that American oil companies would invest billions of dollars to revive the deteriorating oil and gas industry in Venezuela after years of lack of investment and mismanagement.

He said: "We’ll sell a lot of oil, we’ll take some of it, they’ll take a lot of it, they’ll make huge profits, they’ll make more money than they ever made before, and that will be good for us.".
