Batelco renews its strategic partnership with the GCC Electrical Interconnection Authority

Batelco, a Beyon company, announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council Electricity Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) during the Capacity Middle East Conference, reflecting the commitment of both sides to enhancing regional connectivity, ensuring flexibility and reliability of infrastructure, and achieving digital integration.
The renewal agreement was signed by Maitham Abdullah, CEO of Batelco, and Ahmed Ali Al-Ibrahim, CEO of the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority. This renewal is an important milestone that reflects the shared vision of the two institutions to enhance the strength of networks in the region.
Under this renewed partnership, Batelco’s Bahrain Gulf Network (BGN), which operates over the GCC Interconnection Authority’s terrestrial fiber optic systems, will continue to play a pivotal role in providing secure, scalable and highly reliable network solutions. As a protected terrestrial network, the Bahrain Gulf Network is a vital digital gateway, seamlessly connecting the GCC countries, and also connects to regional submarine cables to ensure access to regional markets and global destinations.
