“Sharjah Cooperative” allocates 35 million dirhams to reduce the prices of 10,000 commodities during Ramadan

Sharjah Cooperative launched an initiative to reduce the prices of more than 10,000 commodities during Ramadan through discount campaigns launched before and during the holy month.

The “Cooperative” revealed during a press conference held yesterday that it had allocated financial allocations amounting to 35 million dirhams to implement the discounts initiative.

She explained in statements to “Emirates Today” that she had concluded agreements with supply companies to provide additional quantities of stock of goods, in a way that supports the abundance of products and the stability of commodity prices during the holy month.

The CEO of Sharjah Cooperative, Majid Salem Al-Junaid, said, “The reductions will include more than 10,000 basic and consumer food commodities such as: oils, sugar, and rice, while the reduction rates will reach about 75%.”

He added that “discount offers have now been launched in the cooperative’s branches and through the online store,” noting that “three options of (Ramadan baskets) were offered at prices starting from 99 dirhams and up to 399 dirhams, with discount rates exceeding approximately 50%.” He explained that these baskets include a variety of basic food commodities, including: rice, sugar, flour, oils, and juices, with the possibility of obtaining them through branches, or via online shopping.

He continued: “As part of its early preparations for the month of Ramadan, (the cooperative) was keen to provide a sufficient stock of basic food commodities included in the Ramadan offers, to ensure that the needs of shoppers are met throughout the holy month,” stressing that the goods will be offered in large quantities and at thoughtful prices that will allow the largest possible number of consumers to benefit.

Al-Junaid said, “The cooperative has begun coordination with a number of charitable institutions and bodies in the country to distribute (Ramadan food) to beneficiary families in the form of various food baskets, coinciding with the advent of the holy month. The month of Ramadan will also witness the organization of the Ramadan market in the Rahmaniyah Commercial Center throughout the month, with the participation of more than 100 local projects, as the cooperative has provided the opportunity for national and resident entrepreneurs in the country to display their products, which contributes to supporting entrepreneurs and enhancing customer satisfaction.

For his part, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Sharjah Cooperative, Faisal Khaled Al Nabouda, said, “Prices in general are witnessing stability before and during the month of Ramadan, with a large stock of offer goods in accordance with agreements with supply companies to meet the needs of consumers, and the availability of large quantities of goods included in the offers.”
