المملكة: In the water sector… new Saudi support to Yemen worth 9 million riyals


Within the framework of enhancing international cooperation to support (EU) and Saudi support for Yemen

Support to improve access to water in Ma’rib Governorate represents the first fruits of the strategic partnership, as Today, the European Union and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen signed an agreement with the Silah Development Foundation to implement a project: "Strengthening water security in Ma’rib Governorate" With a total value exceeding 9 million Saudi riyals, to cover 9 areas in 3 districts, Ma’rib Al-Wadi, Ma’rib Al-Madina, and Harib.

This signing embodies the keenness of the European Union and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen for joint work and continuous coordination in order to improve the living conditions of all the Yemeni people.

The two sides agreed to continue coordination and explore additional opportunities for cooperation in the water sector, in addition to development projects and initiatives. Joint ventures in other sectors.

Saudi projects in Yemen

The signing ceremony of the agreement took place with the Executive Director of the Selah Foundation for Development, Ali Hassan Bashmakh, in the presence of the General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, and the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Patrick Simonet.

The agreement came out of concern for joint strategic cooperation, enhancing institutional coordination, integrating development efforts, and maximizing the sustainable impact of development interventions in Republic of Yemen.
