Dubai Civil Aviation and Customs launch the “Remote Visual Inspection” project

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, in cooperation with Dubai Customs, announced the launch of the “Remote Visual Inspection” project, in a step aimed at enhancing the efficiency of inspection procedures, accelerating the completion of transactions, and supporting digital transformation in the aviation sector and customs services, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, by contributing to shaping the future of aviation, as it is one of the vital engines for the growth of the national economy and keeping pace with the directions of the Dubai government in providing smart and proactive services.
The remote visual inspection project includes supporting services for issuing a no-objection certificate to inspect and identify aircraft spare parts in the possession of travelers through Dubai airports or its land ports.
The parts are subject to regulatory inspection by the Aircraft Control Department, and accordingly, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority issues a no-objection certificate.
The service of issuing a no-objection certificate for inspecting and identifying aircraft spare parts has witnessed remarkable growth after the volume of demand for it increased three-fold in 2025 compared to 2024.
The remote visual inspection project is one of the strategic initiatives that enhance Dubai’s position as a global center in the field of aviation and logistics services, and embodies the effective partnership between government agencies in developing innovative solutions that support sustainability and institutional excellence.
Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Mohammed Abdullah Linjawi, said that the remote visual inspection project represents an advanced model of institutional integration between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Customs, and reflects the joint commitment to adopting innovative solutions that keep pace with the aspirations of the Dubai government to provide smart, flexible and highly efficient services, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
He added that the project contributed to improving customers’ experience and raising their level of satisfaction, in addition to achieving positive results on happiness indicators, stressing that this initiative constitutes an important step in the process of digital transformation of the aviation sector in Dubai.
For his part, Director General of Dubai Customs, Dr. Abdullah Busnad, expressed his happiness with the advanced partnership with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, which represents a pioneering path of government cooperation that aims to innovate and develop digital services that contribute to facilitating business and increasing operations in the trade and aviation sector, in a way that supports achieving the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda D33, stressing that “remote visual inspection” represents an advanced model for reducing procedures time, enabling a flexible and attractive business environment, and raising the efficiency of compliance and operational processes. And improving customer experience, which will reflect positively on Dubai’s global competitiveness.
He explained that the project reflects Dubai Customs’ approach towards developing innovative customs programs and systems, aiming to implement comprehensive and integrated security solutions that meet the aspirations of our customers, increase the readiness of customs ports, and keep pace with the requirements of the rapidly growing aviation sector, especially with regard to inspecting and identifying aircraft spare parts and transporting them through various customs ports.
He stressed that Dubai, thanks to its ambitious vision and advanced logistical structure, has today become a strategic center for trade and the aviation industry.
