The launch of the Sharjah Ruler’s Cup Show Jumping Championship

Sharjah, February 20 / WAM / The five-star Sharjah Ruler’s Cup International Show Jumping Championship competitions began yesterday evening, organized by the Sharjah Equestrian Club on its indoor and outdoor fields at the Equestrian Center until February 22, under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation and the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation.

Yesterday evening witnessed two qualifying competitions for the Grand Prix of the Two-Star Championship, sponsored by Sharjah Islamic Bank. The course was designed with barriers reaching a height of 140 centimeters on the floor of the outdoor field, in which 91 participants competed. 31 riders completed the round without error and advanced to the podium, knight Mohammed Ghanem Al-Hajri riding the horse “Lililonka”, finishing the round in a time of 61.72 seconds.

The second place award was won by the Syrian jockey Shadi Gharib with the horse “Shabio TN” with a time of 62.06 seconds, and the third place award was won by the Saudi jockey Ramzi Al-Dahami with the horse “Adrisi” with a time of 63.44 seconds.

While the international two-star championship was opened with a one-round competition sponsored by the Sharjah Equestrian Club, its course was designed with barriers reaching a height of 130 centimeters on the covered hall field, and 65 participants competed in it, 14 of whom succeeded in completing the round without error.

Due to the time difference, the first place award was won by the Uzbek jockey Bakhramjon Gaziev with the horse “Santos”, and he completed the round in a time of 52.39 seconds, and the second place award was won by the British jockey Christopher Fraser with the horse “Karinda-S” with a time of 54.39 seconds.

Equestrian woman Sheikha Latifa bint Ahmed Al Maktoum won third place with the horse “Gharam” in a time of 55.30 seconds.
