100 million dirhams contribution from "Abu Dhabi Endowments" In support of a campaign "Umm Al Emarat Endowment for Orphans"

ABU DHABI, 23 February, 2018 (WAM) – The Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Authority – Abu Dhabi Endowments, announced a contribution of 100 million dirhams in support of the “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign, in a move that is consistent with its mission to transform wealth into a catalyst for sustainable growth, enhance societal well-being and economic prosperity, with a focus on preserving and developing the Endowments’ investments and protecting orphans.

Abu Dhabi Endowments had launched the “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” embodying the values ​​of goodness and giving rooted in the UAE, and drawing its approach from the legacy of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” who made humanitarian work a solid pillar of the country’s development process.

His Excellency Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Authority, said that the “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign represents a practical embodiment of the UAE’s vision to establish the endowment as a sustainable development tool that supports national priorities and enhances investment in people. He stressed that the Authority’s contribution reflects its commitment to developing a modern endowment system managed in accordance with the best international practices, ensuring the sustainability of resources, maximizing its social impact, and providing a supportive environment that enables orphans to build their future with confidence and stability.

He added that the endowment constitutes a long-term strategic framework that consolidates community solidarity and contributes to achieving comprehensive development, by sustaining support and directing it towards deserving groups efficiently and effectively.

For his part, His Excellency Fahd Abdul Qadir Al Qassim, Director General of the Authority, stressed Abu Dhabi Endowments’ keenness to establish the foundations of an endowment system that ensures continuity of support for orphans, and adopts a sustainable investment approach that ensures their access to distinguished educational and health services, in addition to empowering them socially, so that they are active elements in their society and able to achieve their ambitions.

He pointed out that the “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign is added to the UAE’s record of charitable and humanitarian initiatives, and reflects the vision of the wise leadership in devoting humanitarian work to an authentic and sustainable approach that contributes to improving the quality of life, enhancing community cohesion, and spreading the values ​​of tolerance and peace.

Abu Dhabi Endowments continues to launch pioneering endowment initiatives, as its “Endowment of Life” campaign, which it launched within the “Year of Community,” succeeded in raising nearly one billion dirhams, while the “Umm Al Emarat Endowment for Orphans” campaign, coinciding with the “Year of the Family,” enjoys broad community interaction from individuals, institutions, and private sector entities, given its noble humanitarian goals and its role in supporting the sustainable development process in the country.
