The Chamber’s candidate within “Sustainability”, MP Ahmed Al-Salloum, confirmed that the Chamber’s elections represent an important milestone in the journey of one of the most prestigious chambers of commerce in the region, indicating that this ancient legacy places a great responsibility on any new board of directors to continue what the previous ones started and build on it.
Al-Salloum explained that each stage carries its own challenges, whether economic, political, or regional, but the commercial sector is accustomed to transforming challenges into real opportunities for growth and development, pointing out that the electoral bloc that was formed, headed by Nabil Kanoo, came after careful selection of its members, as it includes an elite group of people with experience and generosity, along with new youth energies seeking active participation in decision-making and representing the commercial sector in a renewed spirit.
He added that the slogan of this stage is “sustainability”, based on the importance of preserving the achievements achieved, enhancing stability, and ensuring the continuity of growth in light of regional and international changes.
He pointed out that the bloc has developed a clear plan of action for the next four years in the event that it gains the confidence of voters, based on working as a team among the 18 members, to confront challenges in a complementary spirit and achieve tangible results that serve Bahrain and the commercial sector alike. As for announcing the strategy, he stressed that the full details will be reviewed during the upcoming press conference.
On the other hand, candidate from the bloc, Rashad Zainal, said: “The decision to run for the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections in this session came out of his conviction in the sustainability bloc program, headed by Nabil Khaled Kanoo,” indicating his pride in joining this team, which includes an elite group of people with experience and know-how in multiple economic and commercial fields.
He added that working within an integrated team with competence and a clear vision constitutes a great motivation to exert maximum efforts to serve the commercial sector, expressing his hope that he will be up to the responsibility and contribute to achieving the aspirations of merchants and entrepreneurs in Bahrain.
He stated that his personal goal in running for office is to contribute to the development of the commercial arena, and to work to confront existing challenges in a spirit of cooperation and partnership with various concerned parties, whether relevant departments or ministries, to reach practical and radical solutions that support the growth and stability of the sector.
He also stressed that economic challenges are not hidden from anyone, but they require concerted efforts and work as a single team to transform them into opportunities for growth and modernization.
Zainal stressed that young people represent the foundation of the future, and it is necessary to focus on qualifying, empowering and involving them in business work, so that they are aware of the upcoming challenges and keep pace with modern technologies and global changes, in a way that ensures continued success and development in the commercial sector during the coming years, explaining that the next stage requires serious work and sincere cooperation from everyone to achieve the public interest and serve Bahrain and its national economy.
