The Egyptian passport achieves its best ranking in 12 years

The Egyptian passport achieved its best ranking since 2014, after it rose to 81st place globally in the “Henley & Partners” index for the year 2025, compared to 90th place in the previous year, in an improvement that is considered the largest in 12 years.

The Egyptian passport allows its holders to travel to 50 destinations around the world without a prior visa, the majority of which are concentrated in Africa and Asia, in addition to a limited number of countries in Europe and the Caribbean.

The index is based on the number of destinations that can be entered without a visa, with countries with equal number of destinations being counted within the same rank, which reflects the level of freedom of movement that each passport provides globally.
