Qatar announces the interception of 65 missiles and 12 Iranian drones… and confirms that it reserves the right to respond

The State of Qatar announced that its armed forces successfully responded to a massive Iranian attack targeting its territory with 65 ballistic missiles and 12 drones, stressing its strong condemnation of this dangerous escalation and its reserve of its full and legitimate right to respond.

The Qatar News Agency reported that the attack resulted in 8 injuries, ranging from severe to moderate, in addition to material damage to property, without any deaths recorded.

Speakers revealed in a joint press conference for the Ministries of Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs that 63 missiles and 11 drones were intercepted and shot down, while two missiles arrived at Al Udeid base and a drone targeted one of the early warning radars.

On the ground, the specialized teams began dealing with 114 reports of falling shrapnel in various areas of the country, in conjunction with activating early warning messages that called on residents to stay at home, avoid rumors, and not photograph the effects of the attack.

On the diplomatic level, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the attack a blatant violation of national sovereignty and a violation of the security of the region, expressing at the same time its full solidarity with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan regarding the violations that affected their sovereignty.

Doha also offered its condolences to the UAE and Islamabad for the death of a Pakistani resident in Abu Dhabi as a result of shrapnel from the attack, renewing its urgent call to stop the military escalation and return to the dialogue table to spare the region from dangerous repercussions.
