The UAE air defenses have so far dealt with 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones.

Abu Dhabi, 1st March / WAM / The Ministry of Defense announced that the United Arab Emirates Air Force and Air Defense were able, on the morning of the second day of the Iranian attack, to destroy 20 ballistic missiles, while 8 missiles fell into the sea, in addition to destroying 2 mobile missiles and destroying 311 drones, while 21 drones hit civilian targets, confirming the ability of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense to deal with various threats.

The Ministry explained that since the start of the Iranian attack on 02/28/2026, 165 ballistic missiles were detected that were launched from Iran towards the state, with 152 missiles destroyed, while 13 of them fell into the sea waters, 2 mobile missiles were also monitored and destroyed, and 541 Iranian drones were monitored, 506 of which were intercepted and destroyed, while 35 of them fell inside the state’s territory, and caused damage. Physically, it resulted in 3 deaths of Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationalities and 58 minor cases of injury among Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese and Afghan nationals.

The Ministry indicated that some shrapnel fell in various areas of the country as a result of air defense systems responding to ballistic missiles and drones, which led to minor and moderate material damage to a number of civilian objects.

The Ministry expressed that it is fully prepared and prepared to deal with any threats, and stressed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors represents a top priority that cannot be neglected.
