Extending the stay of guests affected by flight suspensions

The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai sent an important circular to managers of hotel establishments in Dubai, regarding extending the stay of guests affected by the suspension, postponement, or delay of flights, as a result of the current exceptional circumstances.
The department explained, in the circular, a copy of which was obtained by Emirates Today, that the step comes in line with the directives of the Dubai government aimed at providing all necessary forms of support and assistance to international visitors, calling on hotel establishments to cooperate to ensure the availability of extending the stay of guests who were unable to leave due to these circumstances, in accordance with the conditions of the original reservation itself.
The department stressed the importance of not evacuating any inmate, under the current circumstances, if he is unable to pay the cost of extending his stay, stressing the need to inform it as soon as possible when facing such cases, while providing it with a number of information, including the inmate’s original length of stay, the extension period, in addition to any related challenges or observations.
