Sharjah Private Education gives its schools the authority to determine the mechanism for the end of the second semester exams during distance learning

The Sharjah Private Education Authority has granted its private schools the authority to determine the mechanism for the end-of-second semester exams during distance learning scheduled from today, Monday, until the day after tomorrow, Wednesday.

The authority confirmed in a new official circular addressing private school administrations in the emirate, a copy of which was reviewed by Emirates Today, that schools were given the flexibility to choose appropriate evaluation methods during the period of implementing the distance learning system, in a regulatory step for the mechanism of examinations at the end of the second semester of the year 2026.

Circular No. (18) of 2026 came as a continuation of Circular No. (16) related to the transition to distance learning during the period from Monday, March 2, 2026, until Wednesday, March 4, 2026, which is the period that coincides with tests scheduled for some schools.

The circular, addressed to private school principals in the Emirate of Sharjah, explained that the Authority granted school administrations the authority to choose the evaluation mechanism that suits their educational circumstances, provided that the requirements of the approved curriculum are met, with an emphasis on implementing education during this period via distance learning only.

The decision aims to ensure the continuity of the educational process without interruption, while maintaining the quality of academic evaluation and giving schools sufficient flexibility to deal with operational variables, in the interest of students and enhancing the efficiency of educational outcomes.

The Authority stressed the importance of schools adhering to the approved academic standards when applying various evaluation mechanisms, in order to ensure fairness and reliability in test results, calling for the use of digital solutions to support an effective and safe learning experience.

The circular, issued on March 1, 2026, concluded by thanking school administrations for their continued cooperation, and emphasizing the importance of educational partnership to ensure the educational process runs smoothly during the distance learning period.
