Starmer defends his decision not to support first strikes on Iran after Trump’s criticism

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday that he stands by his decision not to support the first joint strikes between the United States and Israel against Iran, after US President Donald Trump criticized his approach.

Starmer added, after Trump criticized him for “being too late” in allowing the United States to use the air bases, “President Trump expressed his objection to our decision not to participate in the initial strikes… but it is my duty to evaluate what is in Britain’s national interest. This is what I did, and I stand by my decision.”
