The unemployment rate in Japan rose to 2.7% in January

TOKYO, March 3, 2017 (WAM) – The unemployment rate in Japan rose to 2.7% last January, according to what the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced today, Tuesday.

Analysts expected the unemployment rate to stabilize at the level recorded last December, amounting to only 2.6%.

At the same time, the job availability rate decreased to 1.18 jobs per job seeker, while analysts had expected it to decline to only 1.19 jobs, compared to 1.20 jobs last December.
