A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hits western Türkiye

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck today in the Buldan district of Denizli Province, western Turkey.

Data published by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) showed that an earthquake occurred at a depth of about 7 kilometers below the surface of the earth, and its epicenter was Buldan, in the west of the country. There was no information about material or human losses as a result of the earthquake.

These tremors come in the context of increasing seismic activity in the region, which prompted experts to call for caution and emphasize the readiness of emergency teams to confront any possible repercussions.
