“Emergencies and Crises” changes the sound of alerts in the early warning system

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced an update on the national early warning system, with its continued operation at full efficiency to ensure the public is alerted.

She stated that the sound of alerts will be changed from 9 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., as the current strong alert sound and the sound of regular text messages for the alert to end, while the sound of regular text messages for the alert and the end of the alert will be from 10:30 p.m. until 9 a.m.

She stressed that the national early warning system is an essential part of the national preparedness framework, and calls on the public to follow the instructions issued when receiving any alert in order to preserve public safety.
