Israel rejects Lebanon’s request to stop fighting to allow talks

The Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing three informed people, that Israel rejected diplomatic initiatives presented by Lebanon to stop Israel’s escalating attack on the Hezbollah group, and demanded that negotiations be held only “under fire.”
The newspaper indicated that the talks did not materialize due to disagreements over the arrangement, as Beirut demanded a “ceasefire” before holding any meeting, while the Israeli government only wanted to discuss the possibility of a ceasefire.
An Israeli army statement said on Tuesday that the army would attack military infrastructure belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah in the near future.
