Abdullah bin Zayed receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus

Abu Dhabi, 13 March /WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received His Excellency Dr. Konstantinos Kompos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.

During the meeting, they discussed the friendly relations and strategic partnership between the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus, and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, in a way that supports the common interests of the two countries and enhances sustainable development paths.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in a number of vital sectors, including economic, trade and investment.

The meeting discussed the repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of brotherly and friendly countries.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated the visit of His Excellency Konstantinos Koumpos, which embodied the depth of the friendly relations between the two countries, and emphasized the full solidarity of the Republic of Cyprus with the UAE in the wake of these brutal and terrorist Iranian missile attacks.

During the meeting, His Highness reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with the friendly Republic of Cyprus, praising the strength of the UAE-Cyprus relations and the continuous development they are witnessing in various fields.

His Highness pointed out the UAE’s keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus in a way that serves the aspirations of the two countries towards achieving more progress and prosperity for their people.

The meeting touched on cooperation relations between the UAE and the European Union, especially with the Republic of Cyprus assuming the presidency of the Council of the European Union during the year 2026.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State.
