The UAE welcomes the Security Council’s adoption of a resolution condemning the Iranian attacks

The United Arab Emirates welcomed the adoption of Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemns, in the strongest terms, the treacherous missile and drone attacks launched by Iran against the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and demands that Iran immediately stop these attacks.
Resolution 2817 states that these actions constitute a violation of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security. The resolution calls on Iran to immediately and unconditionally stop any provocations or threats directed at neighboring countries, including through its agents in the region. The resolution also affirms the right to self-defense in response to Iranian attacks, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
The Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohammed Abu Shehab, welcomed the adoption of the resolution, saying: “The adoption of this resolution, which was co-sponsored by 135 member states of the United Nations, sends a clear and unified message that the international community will not tolerate attacks on the sovereignty of states.”
