"Abu Dhabi Agriculture" Strengthens its institutional partnerships to support the food security system

ABU DHABI, 13 March / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority announced the results of the 2025 Strategic Partners Survey, which included 43 governmental, semi-governmental and private entities, in addition to academic institutions and regional and international organizations.
The results showed that the Authority’s overall rating had risen to 90%, which is one of the highest rates in recent years, reflecting the strength of institutional partnerships and the effectiveness of cooperation to support the food security and agricultural sustainability system in the emirate.
The Alternative National Service Program recorded the highest rate of 94%, followed by the quality of communication, interaction and continuous improvement at 91%, then the quality of services and technical support at 90%, while the partnership and integration themes achieved 89%. As for cooperation in the field of investment, it reached 83%, which indicates additional opportunities for development in this field.
The majority of partners, numbering more than 100 entities, affirmed their confidence in the authority and its ability to implement agreements, provide technical support, develop policies, and facilitate data exchange.
Engineer Zayed Salem Al Kathiri, Acting Executive Director of the Strategy and Policies Sector, confirmed that the results of the survey reflect the strength of the institutional partnerships concluded by the Authority, and its role in strengthening the food security system and agricultural sustainability in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He said that achieving a rate of 90% reflects the Authority’s success in building partnerships based on trust and quality services, noting that these results constitute an incentive to continue developing cooperation, expanding communication channels, and supporting innovation, thus consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for food security and sustainability.
Al Kathiri explained that the Authority will continue to implement the survey annually to develop the quality of services and enhance cooperation mechanisms and opportunities for improvement. It will work to support training programs, develop data exchange, and expand joint initiatives, in a way that increases the efficiency of strategic partnerships.
A group of local and federal government agencies, academic institutions, and leading national and international companies in the field of agriculture and food participated in the survey, with the aim of assessing the level of satisfaction with the quality of partnerships, the effectiveness of cooperation, and the level of communication and technical support.
The year 2025 witnessed expanded activity in the field of partnerships, as the Authority signed 37 new agreements and memorandums of understanding, bringing the total number of active agreements to 99 agreements with local, federal and international bodies.
The agreements included the areas of data exchange, policy and legislation development, agricultural innovation, and training programs, in addition to agreements with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Asian Technology Institute in Thailand.
The agreements aimed to support the food security system, enhance agricultural sustainability, and raise the sector’s readiness, in addition to expanding international cooperation in a way that enhances the emirate’s position.
The most prominent of these partnerships is cooperation with the FAO on the agricultural sustainability plan and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand in the areas of fish farming and exchange of experiences.
The agreements included pivotal provisions related to exchanging data, developing policies and legislation, promoting agricultural innovation, and raising the efficiency of technical services, training and scientific research, in a way that supports food security and agricultural sustainability in Abu Dhabi.
It is worth noting that the Authority annually organizes a Partners Forum within the activities of World Food Week, which is a major platform for enhancing communication, reviewing joint initiatives, and discussing investment opportunities in the areas of food security and agricultural sustainability.
