“Record” travel for the Chinese during the Spring Festival

Chinese travelers made a record number of domestic trips during the Spring Festival season, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Official data issued by the Chinese Ministry of Transport showed a record number of 9.4 billion trips recorded in the total number of passenger trips between regions across the country, during the 40-day travel season on the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival, which concluded last Friday.

Land trips accounted for about 8.74 billion trips, remaining the busiest means of transportation. The total number of passenger trips via railway reached 538 million.
