Condensed Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah al-Mukarramah conducted its oversight tours on Public benefit markets and slaughterhouses in preparation for Eid al-Fitr.
The field campaign aims to ensure the abundance of food commodities and the establishments’ compliance with health requirements to protect consumers.
Intensive field tours showed a noticeable abundance of meat, vegetables and fruits to meet the needs of shoppers during the season.
Veterinary procedures
The operating establishments and vendors adhered to the approved health systems and instructions to ensure the safety of the exhibits.
The strict supervision included the approved slaughterhouses in the region to monitor on the ground the progress of work and the application of veterinary procedures.
This comes to ensure the quality of the meat and its complete suitability for human consumption in accordance with the applicable controls.
Monitoring rounds
The Director General of the Ministry’s branch in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, Engineer Walid Al-Daghis, confirmed the continuation of the daily monitoring rounds as part of the “Our Monitoring of… Markets and slaughterhouses for a healthy and safe Eid.”
Al Daghis explained that these intensive efforts fall within an integrated system aimed at enhancing food safety.
This system works to secure healthy and safe products for citizens and residents throughout the days of Eid al-Fitr.
