Abu Dhabi Police calls for the use of official applications when requesting services or electronic purchases to avoid fraud

Abu Dhabi Police called on community members to adhere to using official and approved government or private applications when making purchases or requesting services via digital platforms, to avoid fraud from fake links in search engines, stressing that relying on reliable sources contributes to protecting users from falling victim to electronic fraud.
She explained that fraudulent methods have evolved to include websites that appear to be reliable, but in reality they are fake pages for some fraudsters who exploit advertisements promoted at cheap prices in search engines to lure victims and steal their personal or financial data, which is used to collect the personal and financial data of individuals through attractive offers or low prices that attract victims.
He urged the necessity of ensuring the authenticity of electronic links, protecting credit cards, dealing with reliable websites, and avoiding sites whose credibility is doubtful, to protect property from all types of fraud and relying on official applications approved by government agencies or available on well-known application stores.
She called on community members to immediately report any fraudulent attempt through Aman through the call center 8002626, or by sending a text message to 2828, or through the Abu Dhabi Police smart application, or via email (aman@adpolice.gov.ae), or the police station service on your phone, stressing the continuation of its efforts in security awareness and combating cybercrimes as an embodiment of its strategic priority in enhancing security and safety and the strategic goal of preventing crime.
