Learn about the regulations for distance learning in the first two weeks of the third semester

The Ministry of Education revealed the mechanisms and controls for distance learning implemented by the state’s public and private schools that follow the ministerial curriculum, starting Monday, March 23, for a period of two weeks, as schools will continue to provide lessons and educational activities via approved digital platforms, allowing students to continue their learning from home in an ongoing, organized manner.

The Ministry explained through the parents’ guide for distance learning for the third semester of the academic year 2025-2026, the details of which were reviewed by Emirates Today, that students continue to study the basic subjects, which include the Arabic language, Islamic education, social studies, English, mathematics, and science in its various branches such as physics, chemistry, and biology, in a way that ensures the continuity of the curriculum without change in the academic content.

Variety

She added that students will learn from home through a variety of educational activities provided by the school, including live online classes with teachers, graded learning activities, and tasks that can be completed offline such as reading, writing, or creative activities, in addition to recorded educational explanations or presentations.

She indicated that schools will share academic schedules and instructions via approved digital learning platforms, as well as their official communication channels, to ensure that information is clearly and regularly delivered to students and parents.

Student commitment

The guide stressed the need for students to commit to participating in distance learning activities according to the daily school schedule approved by the school, as attendance will be recorded for each class, and students are expected to attend the entire class. Participation includes joining live classes, completing the required educational activities, and submitting assignments on time. If it is not possible to attend any class, the school must be informed of this according to the established procedures.

He explained that this stage has a major role in enhancing family participation in the educational process, as parents play an essential role in supporting their children’s learning and daily monitoring, as the guide provides practical information that helps families manage distance learning at home, in addition to instructions related to online safety, and methods to support student interaction and the continuation of their learning during this period.

Children’s readiness

The guide indicated that distance learning allows the continuation of students’ education from home, and contributes to enhancing their learning and developing their self-reliance, and parents can actively contribute to this process by constantly reviewing the daily study schedule approved by the school, ensuring that children are ready to access and use the learning platform, and providing an appropriate educational environment characterized by calm and comfort, in addition to supporting children to join live classes at their specified times.

Support the little ones

With regard to supporting younger children, the guide indicated that they need additional care while learning from home, as it requires greater assistance in focusing and understanding instructions and building self-confidence, through parents sitting with their children during classes as much as possible, and helping them use learning platforms and communication applications approved by the school, in addition to clarifying the teacher’s instructions to them, reading with them on a daily basis, and involving them in simple educational activities such as drawing, counting, or telling stories, in a way that enhances their basic skills.

Advance preparation

The guide discussed how to prepare for the first day of distance learning, stressing the importance of advance preparation to ensure an organized and smooth start. These preparations include reviewing the expectations and instructions related to distance learning, reviewing the daily study schedule approved by the school, ensuring that the children are ready to enter the learning platform, testing devices and ensuring the integrity of the Internet connection, as well as ensuring that the sound and camera work well.

When the school day begins, parents must help their children log in to the learning platform, and ensure that they join the first lesson on time. During the school day, it is recommended to monitor younger children’s use of the educational platform and provide them with support when needed, to ensure that they continue to interact with the lessons and do not face technical or educational difficulties.
