North Korean leader shows off a tank with “unprecedented” defensive capabilities

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised a large military exercise during which he unveiled a new battle tank, described as an essential element in the modernization of the North Korean army, according to what official media reported.
The North Korean Central News Agency reported that the maneuver was conducted at the Pyongyang training base, and included armored units that fired anti-tank missiles, in addition to units that targeted fake enemy drones and helicopters, in preparation for the advance of infantry and tanks.
The agency explained that the new tank features mobility capabilities, firepower, and advanced defense systems, including protection from missiles and drones.
She added that Kim “watched with great pleasure the tanks advancing forcefully,” expressing his satisfaction at what he described as the embodiment of the army’s courage, and affirming that “remarkable progress” had been achieved in modernizing the tank industry.
He said that the new tank has strong self-defense capabilities, considering that “there is no armored weapon in the world that matches it.”
