America is considering gradually ending the military operation against Iran

US President Donald Trump said that the United States is considering “gradually ending” its military operation against Iran, at a time when Tehran and Israel exchanged attacks on Saturday, and Iranian media reported that the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz was attacked.
In a social media post, Trump said the United States was close to achieving its goals, but insisted that other countries should take the lead in monitoring the Strait of Hormuz, whose current near-total closure threatens to shock the global energy sector.
Trump and his administration sent conflicting messages about US goals during the war, which today enters its fourth week, making traditional US allies difficult to respond.
Trump hinted at the possibility of gradually ending the war with the disappearance of the Iranian threat, while at the same time, US Marine forces and heavy landing ships headed to the region on a mission whose objectives are not yet clear.
Trump said on the Truth Social platform, “We are very close to achieving our goals, and we are considering gradually ending our major military efforts in the Middle East with regard to Iran’s terrorist regime.”
He added, “Other countries that use the Strait of Hormuz will have to protect and monitor it as needed, but the United States does not do that.” He went on to say, “If we are asked to do so, we will assist these countries in their efforts related to the Strait of Hormuz, but that will not be necessary once the Iranian threat is eliminated.”
Trump accused NATO member states, who were not consulted about the war, of cowardice for their reluctance to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
