The Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union reject Iran’s hostile actions and are discussing containing the escalation

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, affirmed the strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the GCC countries, stressing that they are a blatant violation of sovereignty and international laws and norms, and a direct threat to regional and international security and stability.
This came during his receipt of a phone call today from the European Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs at the European Commission, Dubravka Sojka, where the latest developments in the regional situation and the repercussions of the dangerous escalation were reviewed.
During the call, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi stressed the need for an immediate cessation of all hostilities, pointing out the importance of concerted international efforts to contain this escalation in a way that ensures the security and stability of the region, and the safety of navigation and global energy supplies.
The European Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs expressed her rejection of all Iranian hostile actions towards the GCC countries, stressing the European Union’s full support for the security and stability of the GCC countries.
