The Head of State receives the French Minister of the Armed Forces

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today Catherine Vautran, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of the French Republic.

During the meeting, she conveyed to His Highness the greetings of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and his wishes for the UAE for continued security and prosperity. His Highness also conveyed to him his greetings to President Emmanuel Macron and his wishes for his country and its friendly people further progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, His Highness and the French Minister discussed the relations of cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries in defense affairs and the mutual keenness to strengthen them within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings together the two countries.

The meeting also touched on the developments taking place in the Middle East region in light of the military escalation, with its serious repercussions on security and stability at the regional and international levels.

Catherine Vautran reiterated France’s condemnation of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and countries in the region, affirming its solidarity with the UAE and its support for all measures it takes to preserve its security and stability and ensure the safety of its citizens.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of ministers and senior officials.
