20 enemy ballistic missiles and 9 drones were detected during the past 24 hours

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced today that air defense systems detected 20 ballistic missiles and nine enemy drones within the airspace during the past 24 hours.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, said in a media briefing broadcast by the Kuwait News Agency that 13 missiles were intercepted and destroyed, while seven fell outside the threat area without posing any danger.

He added that six enemy drones were destroyed, while two targeted one of the fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, which led to the outbreak of a fire, which was being dealt with by the specialized teams without recording human casualties. One drone also fell outside the threat area.

He pointed out that the “Duty” force of the National Guard was able to destroy one drone and five “drone” aircraft within the positions of responsibility within the framework of integration and coordination between the military authorities.

For its part, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said that the explosive disposal teams dealt with 43 reports related to the fall of shrapnel resulting from defensive interception operations during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of reports that the teams dealt with since the beginning of the aggression to 550 reports.
