His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed during telephone calls with a number of foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries the repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile and terrorist attacks on the UAE and a number of sister countries.
His Highness held telephone discussions with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom, José Manuel Albarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, Jean-Noel Barrot, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, and Ermak Kucherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The communications discussed the serious repercussions of current developments on the security and stability of the region, as well as their effects on the global economy and the security of energy supplies.
His Highness and the ministers expressed their strong condemnation of these brutal and terrorist missile attacks, which represent a clear violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct threat to the security and sovereignty of countries and the stability of the region.
They stressed the right of countries that were subjected to these attacks to take the necessary measures to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to maintain the security of their citizens, residents and visitors, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
During telephone calls, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his appreciation for the positions of solidarity shown by brotherly and friendly countries towards the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors on its soil.
His Highness and the ministers discussed the importance of enhancing international cooperation and concerted joint efforts to maintain regional security and stability, and meet the aspirations of the peoples of the region for comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity.
